PDFMailer ("we", "our", "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that converts webpages to PDF and opens Gmail compose with the PDF attached. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Data We Collect

PDFMailer collects and stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's storage API:

Your name — used to populate email templates
Email address — used to manage your Pro subscription
Email template — your custom email body text
Daily usage count — tracks the number of PDFs generated per day for the free tier limit
Subscription status — whether you have an active Pro subscription

Data We Transmit

The only data transmitted to our server (pdfmailer-api.onrender.com) is:

Your email address — sent to verify your Pro subscription status and to create Stripe checkout sessions for payment processing

We do not transmit:

Webpage content or URLs you visit
Generated PDF files or their contents
Your browsing history or activity
Your Gmail credentials or email contents

PDF Generation

All PDF generation happens entirely within your browser using Chrome's built-in print-to-PDF engine. No webpage content is sent to any external server. The generated PDF exists only in your browser's memory until you choose to save it locally or attach it to a Gmail compose window.

Gmail Integration

PDFMailer opens Gmail compose in a new browser tab using a standard Gmail compose URL. We do not access your Gmail account, read your emails, or send emails on your behalf. You always review and manually click "Send" in Gmail.

Payment Processing

Pro subscription payments are processed by Stripe. When you upgrade, you are redirected to Stripe's secure checkout page. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card or payment details. Stripe handles all payment information in accordance with their privacy policy.

We do not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising services.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to third parties. Your email address is shared only with Stripe for the sole purpose of processing your subscription payment.

Data Storage & Security

All user preferences and settings are stored locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. Subscription verification data is stored on our server with industry-standard security practices. You can clear all locally stored data at any time by removing the extension.

Your Rights

You can:

View your stored data in the extension's Settings panel
Delete all local data by uninstalling the extension
Cancel your Pro subscription at any time through Stripe
Request deletion of your email from our server by contacting us

Children's Privacy

PDFMailer is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
